Orlando Lutheran game is FOX35 Game of the Week!

(9/24/09) With 60% of the votes, Orlando Lutheran Academy's first district football game since the mid-80's is FOX35 Orlando's high school football Game of the Week.

Friday's contest against Lake Mary Prep will be spotlighted by FOX35 Orlando with extended highlights and post-game interviews of the winning team.

OLA was 2-0 in games they were selected as Game of the Week last season, including last season's contest against Lake Mary Prep to open the regular season.

Jackson earns Player of the Week

Orlando Lutheran Academy junior rb/db Ron Jackson was recognized by sports radio station 740 The Game (740 AM on the radio dial) as their Week 2 HS Player of the Week after rushing for 200 yards with 3 TD along with 7 tackles and 1 fumble recover Friday September 11th in a 39-12 victory against Calvary Christian Clearwater.

2009 FALL Sports Update...

Varsity Volleyball 

Crusaders off to a hot start with another win
(9/21/09) The Lady Crusaders followed Thursday night's big win over University with no let down as they defeated International Community School in 3 sets - 25-9, 25-6, 25-12.  Seniors Cecelia Lukas - 7 aces, 3 kills, and Natalie Wilkins - 2 aces, 6 kills, 8 assists led the charge.  Sophomore Emma Eggert - 5 aces, 1 kill, and freshman Adrienne Czaplewski - 6 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs, were key contributors in the win. Season record improved to 7-4.

Varsity - vs Lutheran HS of Jacksonville, Thursday 9/24 @ 5:30pm.
MS - vs Eastland Christain School, Saturday 1:00pm @ Faith Christian Academy

Middle School Soccer
(9/17/09)  CONGRATULATIONS to the Middle School Soccer Team who won their first game in recent years by dominating their first home game of the year Tuesday night against Faith-Eustis Lutheran school.

The Crusaders, now 1-1 on the year, dominating play was led by Samuel Norris, who had his first career hat trick scoring three goals in the effort. Anthony Bonilla added two more as the Crusaders would take a 5-0 lead and go on to win 5-1.
Special mention for their outstanding play and excellent teamwork on offense and defense to Harrison Jarman Dominic BrignoniChase Rystrand, Ben Ortt and Anya Rallison!
Congratulations again Crusaders! Come out and support them Tuesday September 22nd against Faith Christian Academy at 6:00pm!


(9/14/09) - Orlando Lutheran traveled to Clearwater, FL and defeated Calvary Christian High School 39-12 after bad weather delated the start of the game by 1-hour.

Junior Ron Jackson led the Crusaders (1-1) on offense rushing for 191 yard on 10 carries, scoring 3 times, while recording 7 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.  Senior Brandon Reyes led the defense with 13 tackles, 1 blocked extra point attempt, and 1 fumble recovery.

OLA takes a week off, then travels to Lake Mary to play their first district opponent, Lake Mary Prep on September 25th.

Crusader Club News:

Join your booster club!  The Crusader Club supports the athletic programs of The Orlando Lutheran Academy.  Through this club you will have the opportunity to earn your Crusader pride volunteer points!  The next regular meeting will be on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Consider volunteering to serve on the Crusader Club board or one of its committees.  We are looking for a Vice-President. 

Interested in serving as an advertising committee chairperson to assist with the game programs, the new full color season program, advertising signage for the field fence, or helping plan a fundraiser?  Contact Francesca Knutson or Melanie Wise and offer your assistance with our athletic boosters.

Neilson and Hurt win Athlete of the Year at Athletic Awards Banquet

Seniors Brooke Neilson and Dane Hurt were awarded the 2009 Female and Male Athlete of the Year at the 2009 Orlando Lutheran Academy Athletic Awards Banquet on Friday May 15.

Athletic Participation forms must be completed each year in order to compete in FHSAA sanctioned events.  The forms can be obtained by clicking below, or stopping by the administration office's front desk.  These forms are valid for one calendar year from the date of the physical.  The form MUST be turned in prior to your child attending tryouts and/or summer activities for a particular sports.  A FHSAA Consent and Liability form must also be turned in with the participation form.  It may also be obtained by clicking below.  Florida Department of Health generic forms are NOT ACCEPTABLE.  Please use the forms below and submit to the office or athletic department.

Transfers - incoming 10th, 11th or 12th graders - if you have not done so, please download the FHSAA GA-4 form, complete it, and turn it into the athletic office along with your physical and consent form before the first day of practice/tryouts to participate in activities -- download FHSAA GA-4 Form

Crusader Contracts
Crusader Contracts can be picked up in the office.  All contracts must be signed by both student-athlete and parent before competing in an athletic event.
